Weekend in Seattle

This past weekend we took a little vacation to the beautiful city of Seattle. We went with our friends Chris & Missy. It was tons of fun. A few weeks before we went Missy asked what we were doing on Mother's Day weekend.....Of course I thought we would be doing something with our families, but she suggested we go to Seattle and how could we resist. They had gotten tickets to an all inclusive Mariners game, suite and all. So I called up our timeshare which is in the heart of the city and they had availability. We decided that it would be fun so we asked our parents and they said they would keep our kids. The game was so much fun all you could eat, drink and prime seats. I have to admit we didn't watch to much baseball.......we ate most of the time. We enjoyed the city with rather nice weather and enjoyed a little shopping of course. Thanks to our parents our kids didn't miss us at all. They were however excited to give me my Mother's Day gift. It was a very fun and enjoyable weekend. Thanks Chris and Missy for such a great time!

Helping Mommy in his own little way!

Anybody who knows my boys knows that all they think about is hockey. So the last couple of times I have mopped, Crew kept asking me if I was cleaning the ice. Of course I said no and he was pretty persistent that I was cleaning the ice. Today I was getting ready to mop the floor when Crew came in and said he was going to clean the ice. So I let him......he did it for about an hour and then we went and got Trenton from school, so he had to give it up. When we got home I tried to start to mop again and he just insisted on cleaning the ice. I guess I am going to have to mop when he is asleep. What a funny kid!

Saying Bye to our Butterflies!

We said goodbye to our 5 butterflies today. We did end up keeping 1 because he had a hard time emerging into this world and couldn't fly. So Trenton wants to keep him and see what happens.

Caterpillars, Chrysalids, & Butterflies....Oh My

Easter Bunny Missy brought our house a live butterfly treehouse. So things around our house have been very exciting the past few weeks. When we arrived home from the beach we found a box of caterpillars in our mailbox.

Day 1

As time went on our caterpillars got bigger and bigger and bigger. I couldn't believe how big they got.

Day 2-10

Once they got very fat they crawled up to the top of the container and hung upside down for a few days until they turned into iridescent chrysalids.

On Monday April 21st Brent and Trenton moved the chrysalids to the butterfly treehouse so they could emerge into their new home.
We all watched and waited.......until today Crew was pointing up at the butterfly treehouse and I was very surprised to find 3 beautiful butterflies. Trenton was at school so when I picked him up I told him we had a surprise at home, he could hardly wait. When we got home another butterfly had emerged. It is pretty amazing to watch their wings dry and change into this bright orange. Can't wait to see what the next few days bring.

Blog Break

Sorry for the long break from blogging. I haven't really had anything to blog about. These past few weeks we've been keeping busy with the start of T-ball for Trenton, enjoying a few sunny days and getting ready for the big birthday month. In May we have 5 birthdays & Mother's Day to keep us busy. Yesterday we went to Desert Aire and then off to Othello for one more April birthday. Turner our Nephew turned 5. It was a super hero party and since Crew thinks all super hero's are AWESOME he loved it. Trenton was just happy to see his boys and play rough. My sister even made each kid their own cape with their initial on them. Aren't they cute! Brent had a meeting in Desert Aire so we made it part of our little trip. Birthday Surprise!

My bestest friends Missy and Tia put together a special surprise for me. And boy was I surprised......I thought we were going to Outback but we took a little detour to Applebees. Some of our friends were there waiting to surprise me. It was very fun and a little embarrassing. After our dinner we headed over to the Bennetts for games and dessert. But come on, with all of us girls and a bunch of boys who own their own companies there was no time for games.

Cold & Rainy Spring Break!

I guess we were due for a rainy and cold spring break. It's been years since I can remember us having rain at the beach. I didn't even step foot on the beach this year. Sad I know! Trenton got to use his new scurf board once and that was enough for him. He saved his money all year to get a scurf board like his cousins and he only used it once! We did however manage to have a very good time. We shopped tell we dropped, eat good food, played with our cousins, and enjoyed the pool. I put a slide show of the pics, but you will see that our trip to the beach was spent mostly inside where it was nice and warm.
